What to get that little girl for Christmas?

Doll clothes, of course!

I’ve been reading up a little bit about WordPress and its capabilities for online sales. And since I have so many 18-inch doll clothes in my sewing room, waiting for the opportunity to become part of  “Debra Kay’s Online Doll Clothes Emporium” (heretofore referred to as DKODCE”, I thought I would try an experiment and put a few of them up for sale on my blog.

At first I tried listing each of the four dresses on this page with a PayPal button so people could buy them. But it was going to involve people sending me their shipping address and contacting me to see if the dress they wanted was already sold or not. Since then I have upgraded my blog to the “Business Plan” and now I have the capability to have a “Cart” that will let you know if an item is still in stock. The only thing is…I haven’t figured out how to set it all up yet. But until then, you can still read about the dresses here.

Dress 1:  I’m sure you remember Belle from “Belle’s Fashions”.  I really like the dress she’s modeling because of its “old-fashioned” look. This dress features a lined bodice and Velcro closure in the back. Length is approximately 11 inches from the shoulder to the hem. Fits average 18-inch dolls. Hair bow is included.This dress does have hand-sewn buttons and bows on the front, so it’s not recommended for very small children who might take them off and try to eat them. (And while we’re on the subject, the same goes for any of my dresses that have anything hand-sewn on them. You must use your own judgment when deciding if an item is suitable for your child.)

Dress 2: This is Emma, (who was as yet unnamed in “A Friend for Belle”). She is  modeling a blue cotton sun dress with a double ruffled skirt and a lined bodice. It could also be worn with a cardigan over it, or a knit top underneath, if you have one. Length is approximately 11 inches from the shoulder to hem, and the back closure is Velcro with a hand-sewn button just for looks.

Dress 3: This is a really cute maxi dress with a Velcro back closure. The approximate length from shoulder to hem is 13 inches. The bodice is not lined. Red hair ribbons are included. With both Belle and Emma modeling, you can see how it will look on different dolls.

Dress 4: This maxi dress features measures approximately 13 inches from shoulder to hem. The lace bodice and bell sleeves are lined, and the back closure is Velcro. Perfect for that formal Christmas party look.
