Checkup and Shots

Hi everyone! This is Foster and Mom said I could do a post about my most recent vet visit! I can’t wait to tell you all about it!
carrier in kitchen

I might start by mentioning that if your Human ever puts your cat carrier down on the kitchen floor and opens it, don’t just walk right in! I don’t know what I was thinking when I did that…

carrier 3

Before I knew it I was in the car on the way to the vet for my 1-year checkup and booster shots! Who knew this was going to become a yearly event? Even using two paws I couldn’t get out of the carrier.

on counter

I remembered the office once I got there. When I was a baby Mom let me walk around on the counter while we waited for the vet to come in, but of course I was much smaller back then. This time it was much more interesting.

I’m usually pretty good at the vet, but this time I didn’t feel like getting on the scale to get weighed.  They said I weighed 11.6 lbs! If you remember, on my first visit I only weighed 1.8! The doctor said I’m not overweight, so Mom was happy about that.

This is when I was getting my physical. Dr. Duran was so happy to see me and to see how much I’ve grown! She said I was very handsome, and that Mom is taking very good care of me! (Thanks, Mom!)

Just for reference, here are the three pictures we have of me and Dr. Duran. See how much I’ve grown!

panting

Mom thought I was panting here, but Dr. Duran said that cats have a scent organ on the roof of our mouth and so I was just smelling things. Even I didn’t know that!

in cubby hole

Then it was time to wait for my shots, so I decided to check out the office a little more. They said cats always go in this little cubby-hole so I thought I should try it out too.

Mom took the opportunity to take a few closeups of me while we waited.

back in carrier

After my shots it was time to get back in the carrier and go home. That wasn’t so bad after all!
