It Was Never About the Dishwasher, Part 2

It was about the box!

You may have read “It Was Never About the Dishwasher” back in September.

On September 6, we got this huge box, and it turned out Mom had bought a new dishwasher.

But she had to have some pipes fixed under the house before they could install it, and so the box stayed in the front living room for a couple of weeks.

On September 23, when the plumbers came back to install the new dishwasher, they discovered it had a dent in it! So, Mom had to order a new one, and she arranged to return the dented one.

Well, the new one came in before the old one got picked up, so for a while we had two dishwasher boxes in the front room!

This was cool because I could choose which one I wanted to sit on.

Before having the dented one sent back, we opened the box to make sure the new one wasn’t dented too.

It was October 15 when the guys from Lowe’s came to get the dented one. Mom remarked at the time that we needed to be careful they didn’t take the replacement one back by mistake.

Yay! Our new dishwasher was installed on October 20, almost two months after the whole process was started.

And we still had the empty box in the front room.

Of course, you know how much we cats like boxes! Mom didn’t have the heart to put it outside right away. She said we could keep it in the front room for a little while.

We thought it looked okay, since it was going to be temporary anyway. You can see a couple of kitty toys inside the box if you look closely. It makes a great den for me to keep my stuff in.

Sometimes Mom puts my stuff on top of the box, just to change it up a little.

Blog material, I presume!

The longer we’ve had the box, the more the top has started to bend.

Still, I don’t think it has anything to do with Dr. Duran saying Mom might want to cut my food intake by ten percent.

It’s already April, and we haven’t gotten rid of the box yet. I still enjoy being on my red chair, but it’s nice to know that I can still sleep on top of my box if I want to.

Mom has mentioned that she wishes she could find a piece of furniture I could use for a den, to take the place of the box. She saw this on Amazon, but we wouldn’t use it for the litter box. It would just be for me to sit on top of and to play inside of. But she hasn’t decided yet. If she does order one, we’ll let you know.

Until then, I’ll be up here on my dishwasher box, surveying my kingdom with my catnip mouse.

  1. I think it’s nice of your mom to provide such a large box for you. Too bad it didn’t hold up longer. I encourage the furniture piece, too. Perhaps I can talk Sue into getting one for me. I’ll work on it. 😺 – Benji
