The other day I found the photos of our bathroom remodel of 2003.

One of the things we did was to have a sliding door put in the wall between our room and the bathroom. And, no, we did not do this by ourselves. It was actually done by a friend who knows how to do this stuff.

You can see how they had to knock out some of the tile in order to replace the tub faucet.

We took out the old sink and replaced it with a new one. I didn’t have a picture of the original sink and cabinets, but the counter was the same “retro” pink tile as you see in the tub. To be honest, I’ve always liked that kind of tile, but it was cracked and chipping. (And yes, that’s the faucet I replaced 14 years later in “Don’t Try This at Home”.)

This was obviously before Foster’s time, but Skippy, a beloved “pet from the past” was there to supervise. I guess you could say Foster got to be part of the “second remodel”.

Here you can see the old bathtub faucet (left) and the new one (right) in progress. You can also see the row of black tiles we put in between the old and the new pink ones. (This is explained somewhat in “Because I Can”, which is the first in the “series” about the sea animals mosaics.) And I guess I had forgotten this, but the soap dish in the corner apparently was an add-on.

The shower curtain in 2003, before there was ever a cat fountain on the bathroom counter, and now, when there is. And as Panda explains in “Amazon Prime”, the filter needed replacing, which prompted them to go online and try to order a new one. But that’s another story.

The beginning of the sea animals project, 2019.

Before and after of the other end of the tub.

Before and after of the final sea animal, in March of 2020.

I found some “before and after” shower curtain pictures too!

Sea animals finally finished, April 2020!

And while we’re on the subject, we might as well see some before and after Foster and Panda pictures!

Okay, that’s enough. It’s bedtime.
Loved your bathroom mosaics – I remember that journey! But of course, Foster’s kitty pics always steal the show (and Panda ones too). Adorable 🙂
Aww! Thanks! I thought you would be one of the first ones to see this post since it would be daytime where you are. 😀
Just coming up to 10am… time for another cup of tea. Sleep tight over there!
😴
What a cool bathroom!! The mosaic is so pretty!
Thanks! I’m glad you like it. 😀🐠🐟
That mosaic art is sooo pretty 😍 I really really like it! And oh goodness, Panda used to be bigger than Foster! Super cute! 😄❤️
Thanks! It’s fun to have sea animals in the shower😂I can hardly believe Foster was ever that small myself!
Looks like a scary job but it turned out great. I like that window in the shower!!!
Thanks! That was already there, interestingly enough. 😋
Your bathroom sure has changed I love the oolorfull mosaics,. Very creative. A happy weekend to you and Foster and Panda. Always nice to see your creative photos of them,
Thanks Sandra! It was fun finding those old photos of the bathroom. I was glad I hadn’t lost them after all this time. 😀
Wow so much work. I think only Foster hair grew, if you wet him down he would still be that little skinny cat like when he was little. Beautiful tile work in the bathroom.
Thanks Linda! I was glad I found those old photos of the bathroom, I had them on a CD. It’s fun having sea animals in the tub 😀
Charlee: “Panda! What has happened to you over the years? Did you shrink?”
Panda: “Yes, Charlee, I think I must have!”
Foster: “Dude, I think other stuff has been shrinking around here too, like the wastebasket in the sewing room!”
Really nice to see how things progress and kittie grow up and Panda be his ever self 🐼🐱💖
Thanks! I always enjoy looking at kitten photos😀🐱🐼
Great post! You are so creative!
Thanks!😀
