Once there was a guest room... And because there were grandchildren, there were bunk beds. And because there was a cat, there was always someone to get up on the top bunk when the grandchildren weren't over. But then a queen size bed was added to the guest room. This did pose a few challenges, not …
Or maybe I mean "A Sticker-y Situation"... Because while cactus thorns can stick you I guess they aren't technically stick-y. But anyway. We can do an English lesson on that another day. Right now I'm just worried about whether to say "cactus" or "cacti" or even "cactuses" while writing this post.In "Here is Yard Art", …
First let me say... I did not purchase the above plant. I took the picture merely to show the price, which you really can't see after all. But it was something like $79.99.Suffice it to say, I have my own. I actually think it originally came from Grandma Tracy's house, and it seems like it's …
So on Pinterest you can find all these ideas... And if you're in "Whimsical Mode" and into mosaics, you will probably want to try some of those ideas yourself. Especially if you're trying to make your backyard drought-resistant and just a tiny bit bohemian (read: "eccentric" if you must). This is from September of last year, but …

So when Panda fell into the nopales in Peru, he said they were just like the ones at Carlos and Kate's house... ..and he wasn't terribly far from the truth. This is the one from Carlos and Kate's house. (We still don't know how Panda actually got that information, but anyway.) I thought it would …
No, I did not say "germs" on the sidewalk, although I'm sure they are there, too... Here's a nice picture of my "whimsical" backyard, ("pre-mosaic curb", I might add, if you look closely at the back corner). In the foreground, you might also be able to see spaces between the cement areas that make up …
Have you ever just wanted to smash a plate? Me neither, really. But after playing with glass gems and grout on my "Whimsical Mushroom", and after my sidewalk patch "mosaic", I got another idea...Wouldn't it be so fun to make a mosaic on the little strip of curbing in the back corner of the yard …
